Contract: Permanent

Are you passionate about getting the right information into clinical systems to support patient care? Are you a clinical informatics or ePMA pharmacist looking for a new challenge? Pharmaceutical Press products (such as BNF, BNF for Children, Martindale and Stockley’s Drug Interactions) provide health professionals with trusted, evidence-based information about the use of drugs. We are transforming this gold-standard clinical content into digital tools and machine-readable data for use within clinical systems. We’re seeking a Clinical Informatician to help our team drive this transformation.

The successful candidate will work with our Content, Product and Technology teams, and use their knowledge of clinical coding and patient-facing systems, to help define data-first products and services that meet customer and health system needs.

Pharmaceutical Press is the Knowledge Business of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS). The RPS is the professional leadership body for pharmacists and pharmacy in Great Britain. Our mission is to put pharmacy at the forefront of healthcare. Our vision is to be the world leader in the safe and effective use of medicines.

Requirements:

  • Degree in pharmacy, medicine or related clinical field, or clinical informatics.
  • Demonstrable experience in clinical informatics or clinical decision support systems.
  • An excellent understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare delivery processes.
  • An excellent understanding of how content needs to be structured, coded, held and managed to flexibly deliver tools, services and data for integration in both human-readable and machine-readable outputs.
  • Demonstrable understanding and experience in clinical coding, such as SNOMED CT, and its application to data used for clinical integration (e.g. in clinical decision support).
  • Understanding of FHIR standards and their application in health informatics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy in data curation and management.
  • Proactivity in identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
The Team

Pharmaceutical Press publications are produced by a Content team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and scientists, with a range of backgrounds and experience. A team with a diverse workload, we rely on good communication and work in a flexible, collaborative way to create high-quality medicines information for users of our content.

How we are currently working

RPS supports and works in a hybrid way, which means you will be able to work from home, however, there will be an expectation for collaborative face-to-face working – on average and typically this may be something between 4-8 working days per month at our London Office.

Closing date: 11 May 2025
