About St Andrew’s Healthcare:

We are a mental health Charity dedicated to inspiring hope for those living with complex mental health needs. Our vision includes less stigma, more community support, and a commitment to research and education.

The Role:

The Learning Disability and Autism Division delivers specialised assessment and treatment to individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism, alongside co-morbid mental health needs. The successful applicant will join a well-established psychology department providing professional support and expertise.

We seek a HCPC registered applied psychologist (Clinical, Counselling or Forensic) to join our team, providing care to over 100 patients. You will work as part of a large Multidisciplinary team, including psychiatry, nursing, occupational therapy, and more.

Your key responsibilities will include assessing, formulating, and delivering treatment, as well as evaluating clinical outcomes. You will work within a cognitive behavioural model, focusing on psychotherapy for autism and intellectual disabilities, emotional and psychiatric disorders, and offence-related interventions.

Clinical risk assessment and management is a major aspect of this role, requiring familiarity with standardised methods for assessing clinical risks. You will also support and develop practices within the MDT.

As part of your caseload, you may work with patients transitioning into the community, helping to prepare them for this change.

Requirements:

Knowledge and experience working with individuals diagnosed with Autism and/or Learning Disability is advantageous, along with experience in major mental illness, trauma, and offending behaviour. You will have access to a larger group of clinical, forensic, and counselling psychologists for consultation and collaboration.

Our Values:

Our patients and colleagues expect you to embody the St Andrew’s CARE values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.

Benefits:

We offer an excellent benefits package, including set pay progression, 38 days holiday (including bank holidays), a sickness policy on par with the NHS, car lease scheme, free parking, cycle to work scheme, retailer discounts, and access to vocational qualifications.
