The Position

The Opportunity

Roche’s Clinical Development organisation is structured by therapeutic area and is responsible for developing and executing the late development (Phase II – III) clinical strategies and plans that deliver medically-differentiated therapies providing meaningful improvements to patients. As (Lead) Clinical Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the Clinical Development (CD) strategy and ensuring its effective execution for the assigned molecule(s)/indication(s).

In this role, you will contribute to the CT996 molecule development and there is also potential to collaborate with Zealand Pharma on the cardiometabolics partnership.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the development and implementation of the Clinical Development Plan (CDP) for assigned molecule(s)/indication(s), gathering and analysing data to inform strategic decisions.
  2. Collaborate with internal and external partners, including multidisciplinary groups across business development, research, commercial, and legal.
  3. Provide Late Stage clinical science input into early development/Phase I studies, ensuring seamless transition into Phase II/III stages.
  4. Contribute to regulatory filings, submissions, and documentation, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  5. Ensure operational alignment of the CD plan with wider strategic goals.
  6. Collaborate with other members of the Clinical Science Team and relevant subteams to develop components of the CDP e.g. paediatric plans, publication strategy, KOL engagement.

Who You Are

  1. Medical degree (MD/MBBS or MD/PhD).
  2. Board Certification in Cardiovascular, Renal, or Metabolic (CVRM) specialties preferred.
  3. Experience in late-stage clinical development within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
  4. Proven experience leading clinical development programmes and mentoring teams.
  5. Familiarity with various clinical trial designs, including accelerated approval, pivotal, and breakthrough pathways.
  6. Strong understanding of the pharma/biotech landscape and drug development process.
  7. Excellent communication and influencing skills, with a proven ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Our UK Pharmaceutical head office is situated in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, with beautiful countryside surrounding the area.
