Job Description
Clinical Director
Part time: 1 day per week
Salary: Full time equivalent: £73,000 - £90,000
Based: Marie Curie London office, Embassy Gardens, 8 Viaduct Road, London
Marie Curie is the UK's leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness, they're likely to die from.
The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life. Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.
Your role in our mission...
As the Clinical Director for Primary Care, you will play a pivotal role in providing clinical and care leadership across primary care areas across London and the Home Counties (LHC) to enhance palliative and end-of-life care.
With a focus on General Practice, you will support Marie Curie's integration with wider networks, working meticulously to improve access, outcomes in Palliative & EOL care, and reduce health inequalities.
Reporting to the AD of LHC and providing a deputy function when needed, you will co-lead primary care improvement initiatives with the Medical Director, ensuring alignment with LHC partner strategies.
You will develop ambitious approaches to improve PEOLC, promote collective responsibility for pathway development, and manage PEOLC quality across LHC by collaborating with key partners and regulators.
Additionally, you will represent clinically on NCL ICB committees, support NCL ICB priorities, and provide clinical leadership to ensure services are robust and sustainable.
