Job Overview
As Foundations for Practice Phase Lead at the Lincoln Medical School (LMS), you will make a significant leadership contribution to the running of the BMBS programme, providing academic oversight of the Foundation for Practice component of the curriculum. This role offers flexibility, allowing you to balance your clinical commitments seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the quality of course delivery.
- Contribute to curriculum leadership and delivery of training to staff.
- Aid in the development and delivery of assessments, including contributing to the question bank and developing scenarios for Clinical Professional Skills Assessments.
- Oversee student progress and performance in the Foundations for Practice Phase.
- Collaborate with local Learning Education Providers (LEPs) and monitor students through electronic portfolios.
- Act as a personal tutor, providing guidance to students facing challenges in completing placements and assessments.
Minimum Requirements
As this is a University clinical academic appointment, it is required that you maintain regular NHS clinical practice, GMC registration with a licence to practice, and be revalidated with the GMC. Candidates must have:
- MBBS or equivalent,
- A PhD or equivalent in a medical specialty or medical education, OR extensive professional/teaching/research experience,
- Membership or Fellowship of a Royal College in a specialty that ULHT is a service provider, or be a General Practitioner in the Lincoln area, and be eligible for the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of gaining CCT at the time of interview.
This post is available on a fixed-term contract until 28 February 2029. Hours of work are part-time (8 hours per week).
