Healthcare Services Nurse

Are you a registered practising Nurse looking for a new opportunity? We’re looking for dedicated, passionate, patient-focused individuals to join our store teams and make a difference in the community in our established Healthcare Services Nurse position. This role will include weekend working.

About the role

As a Healthcare Services Nurse you’ll take on a key role as part of a multidisciplinary store team, providing Boots in-store healthcare services to our patients and offering holistic advice whilst delivering exceptional patient-centred care. Our key healthcare services involve, Travel vaccinations including malaria prevention and travel advice, Hypertension service, private vaccinations including Chickenpox, Covid-19, HPV, Shingles, Hepatitis B and Meningitis. You will also be carrying out hypertension case finding service, mot, and mole scanning.

• You will be supported by the Responsible Pharmacist within store and must have the ability to make sound judgements and balanced professional decision making. You will also have the full support from our Nursing Governance Manager who will ensure your induction goes as smoothly as possible to prepare you for your new role within the company as well as ongoing support post induction.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Working within the consultation area in the store to meet patient and customer needs, delivering our range of healthcare services.
• Working in collaboration with team members to support the safe and efficient operation of the healthcare business in your store, ensuring all legal and professional responsibilities are carried out in accordance with regulations such as: audit of practice, maintaining standards in service delivery, responding to feedback from patients and implementing changes to improve patient experience.
• Upskilling on new healthcare services where required.
• Driving continuous improvement in practice by proactively completing continued professional development.

What you’ll need to have

• A registered practising Nurse registered with NMC and have a minimum of 2 years post-registration experience.
• Ability to build professional relationships with your store teams and work within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Ability to network locally and promote your services within the surrounding community.
• A strong clinical background with acute awareness of patient safety and provide evidence of a comprehensive understanding of the RCN Standards of conduct, ethics and performance.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Previous experience supporting high standards of professional practice.
• Desire to support remotely the induction of new Nurse’s within other stores.

It would be great if you also have

• Qualification as a Nurse Independent Prescriber (desirable).
• Primary care experience (desirable not essential).
