What’s the role about?

The Commercial arm of Footballco is looking for a self-starting, well organised and confident Account Manager who is passionate about football and has great knowledge of the game.

Reporting into one of our Account Directors and working as part of a dedicated team you will manage a number of our global clients; ensuring campaign plans are activated, reported on and optimised; and be at the forefront of new initiatives across our owned platforms.

As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for having a deep understanding of our client’s business and challenges and have the ability to efficiently manage multiple projects, relationships and stakeholders at the same time. Although situated in the client Activation team, you’ll be working with multiple strands of the business globally from Sales & strategy to Production & Creative.

If you’ve spent a number of years working within an agency, rights holder or brand, delivering digitally and socially led football content marketing campaigns targeting sports fans; and if you truly understand the sports media landscape and the power of social media to engage with fans – then we want to hear from you!

What You'll be doing:

  1. Strategy & planningwork with central strategy, planning and creative teams to support in putting together innovative digital marketing campaigns to hit KPIs.
  2. Campaign activation own the activation and optimisation of these campaigns and ensure they over deliver against predefined KPIs within the allocated budget.
  3. Creative understanding - guide content and creative teams using your understanding of media platform formats and styles of creatives that work best on each platform.
  4. Stakeholder management - develop a detailed understanding of all stakeholders, your clients ecosystem and build relationships.
  5. Team management – work closely with the Account Director to ensure we continue to build a team and culture that ensures everyone is clear in which direction they are pulling and incentivised to go the extra mile as well as managing and developing junior team members.
  6. Campaign reporting – keep across all campaigns and make sure timely and accurate reports are delivered to all key stakeholders – highlighting key learnings and insights that will ensure we are constantly evolving and progressing our approach.
  7. Up sell & renewals – ensure we are perfectly positioned off the back of successfully delivering campaigns to renew and always seeking for opportunities to unlock new projects and briefs.

What You Have:

  1. Experience working in an account handling role within an agency, right holder or brand environment preferably in sport.
  2. Extensive knowledge of sports media, digital marketing and the social media space.
  3. Experience of working with brands, leagues or broadcasters on social media platforms.
  4. Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to juggle and prioritise multiple clients and tasks.
  5. Delivering client presentations.
  6. Managing budgets and invoicing.
  7. Strong attention to detail.
  8. Excellent people management and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
  9. Ability to work across multiple teams.
  10. A high degree of self-motivation.
  11. A committed, positive and proactive approach.
  12. Strong commercial awareness.
