Job description

Our client is a highly successful accounting practice based near Romford, East London (10 mins from Stratford) with a continually growing team. Our client base is hugely varied and includes clients in sectors from tech start-ups, property investment companies, wholesalers, retailers, consultants, large group companies, and non-listed PLCs.

Job role:

  • Manage a client portfolio of limited company clients allocated based on the experience of the candidate.
  • Allocation of client assignments and team members on the work planner.
  • Review and feedback of accounts and supporting file.
  • Be part of a management team responsible for the efficiencies and mentoring of the accounts department.
  • Budgeting and WIP management of client portfolio.
  • Weekly meetings and reporting with Directors.
  • Ensure technically up to date with the latest accounting and tax aspects.
  • Taking on small short-term internal projects as they arise.

Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of bookkeeping packages including Sage, Xero, and Receipt Bank.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and data analysis techniques.
  • Good level of knowledge of VAT, rules, and schemes.
  • A good level of personal tax knowledge would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of IRIS accounts suite would be advantageous.
  • Some previous audit exposure would be advantageous.
  • Superb written and spoken English.
  • Must be highly enthusiastic and self-motivated.
  • Can work as part of a team or independently.
