Client Accountant

An ambitious multiple partner chartered firm of accountants is currently seeking to add another Senior Accountant to the team based in Wokingham. The Senior Accountant will predominantly assist with a portfolio of clients spanning various industries and turnovers, preparing accounts, business, and personal tax returns while offering advisory and tax planning services. The role offers £50,000, hybrid working, plus study support if applicable.

The ideal candidate will have experience assisting with or solely handling a portfolio of clients and will possess a good deal of experience in providing advice to clients.

Responsibilities:

• Dealing with a varied client portfolio including OMBs, advertising, retail, construction, contractors, etc.
• Preparing and reviewing sets of year-end accounts.
• Preparation of corporation tax returns and self-assessment returns for individuals.
• Developing relationships with clients to become their primary point of contact for any initial accounts, tax, or VAT queries.
• Attending client meetings.
• Handling general incoming client queries and escalating when required.
• Working with a variety of systems including FreeAgent, Xero, IRIS, SAGE, and QuickBooks.
• Previous experience handling or assisting with a portfolio of clients.
• Experience reviewing and delegating work completed for/by juniors.
• ACCA / ACA / ICAEW qualified or part qualified.
• Team building skills, including mentoring junior team members where required.
• Working hours: 9.00 am to 5.30 pm Monday - Thursday / 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Friday.
