Job description

Client Accountant

Telford

12-month FTC

Mon - Fri - 9am - 5pm - 1 hour lunch

Salary - £24,000 - £28,000

We are recruiting for an accountancy practice based in Telford. They are looking for a Client Accountant to be responsible for accounts preparation for a range of limited companies and sole traders.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manual double entry bookkeeping.
  2. Bank reconciliations.
  3. Preparing working papers to trial balance level, including prepayments, accruals and depreciation.
  4. Communicating with clients to resolve accounting/bookkeeping issues.
  5. Completing VAT returns.
  6. Completing and submitting tax returns.
  7. Drafting financial statements for various business entities.
  8. Communicating with HMRC online to set up PAYE schemes and VAT registrations.
  9. Communicating with HMRC both by telephone and online, to resolve queries.

Skills and Experience:
  1. Strong experience in an accountancy practice, with a proven track record in accounts preparation and tax compliance.
  2. Proficiency in accounting software, including Xero or QuickBooks.
  3. Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships effectively.
  5. Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
