Job description

We are working with a Northwest Construction company who are looking for a Clerk of Works to join their growing business in the region.

Role/Duties/Qualifications

New Build Housing/Residential/Affordable Housing/Low Rise/High Rise

Remote. Days will be taken up by site visits and any admin work can be done at home. They can come in the office as and when required but this would be maximum once per month.

Responsibilities:

1. Familiarise Contractors Proposals, Contract Programme, all the relevant drawings and written instructions, checking them, and using them as a reference when inspecting works.
2. Make sure that work is carried out to the Client's high-quality standards, specification, and schedule.
3. Perform duties to comply with various regulations and consents including:- the CDM Regulations 2015, Planning Approvals, Building Regulations, NHBC/Premier or other consents or approvals as deemed necessary.
4. Produce and issue weekly progress/observation reports including quality issues and the actions taken to address them for the Client and/or Client's representative.
5. Visit the site in accordance with the number of visits required in agreed appointments to:
1. a) monitor the progress and quality of the works in compliance with contract/specification documents including progress against the construction programme.
2. b) carry out visual inspection and highlight in the on-site book any areas of concern or actions required.
3. c) inspect the quality of works to ensure they are in accordance with Building Regulations and the Warranty providers standards including all mechanical and electrical installations.
6. Attend Site Progress Meetings.
7. Inspect sample panels and other mock-ups that may be required.
8. Witness commissioning of services installations and report in the event of any problems.
9. Inspect properties at snagging stage, create lists and issue to Contractors. Process to include backchecking.
10. Inspect properties at Making Good Defects stage, create lists and issue to Contractors. Process to include backchecking.
