The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Site Manager or Contracts Manager looking for a rewarding role that lets you utilise your expertise without the pressures of running a site? We are looking for a Clerk of Works to oversee high-quality new build housing, affordable housing, low-rise, and high-rise developments across Manchester, Preston, and Leeds.

This is a remote position with travel to sites as needed. Any admin work can be done from home, with office visits required no more than once per month. If you are a seasoned construction professional who understands the balance between maintaining quality standards and keeping clients happy, this could be the ideal role for you!

Your Responsibilities

1. Monitor and inspect new build housing developments to ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and regulations.
2. Review construction progress against contract programmes and drawings.
3. Ensure work aligns with CDM Regulations, Planning Approvals, Building Regulations, NHBC/Premier Warranties.
4. Produce and issue weekly progress and observation reports highlighting any quality concerns.
5. Conduct snagging and defects inspections, providing contractors with detailed feedback and follow-up actions.
6. Attend site progress meetings, witness commissioning of services, and inspect sample panels and mock-ups.
