Job description

Berry Recruitment invites applications for the position of Clerk including Responsible Finance Officer. This is a part-time role with 18 hours per week. The successful candidate will enjoy a salary ranging from £30,559 to £33,366 (FTE) based on qualifications and experience. Additionally, a pension scheme is provided through NEST Pensions.


About the Role:

This is a key position, requiring a dedicated and dynamic individual to lead the Council in achieving its vision and goals. The Clerk, as Proper Officer, will serve as the Council's main adviser and manager, overseeing its employee and operations.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Governance and Leadership:
    Act as the Proper Officer accountable to the Council, ensuring legal compliance and efficient management of all Council activities. Provide effective leadership, fostering collaboration and motivation among Council employees.
  2. Strategic Planning and Policy Development:
    Advise the Council on critical policy matters and assist in the formation and implementation of overall policies for the Authority's activities. Develop innovative strategies to improve public services, driving impactful change within the community.
  3. Community Engagement:
    Serve as the primary liaison between the Council and the public, ensuring service delivery is customer focused. Promote the Parish Council's value, driving recognition and fostering strong connections within the community.
