To provide a secretarial, clerical and word processing service for specific Sections within Development Services, these Sections being Building Standards, Development Management, Environmental Health, Planning & Economic Development and Trading Standards.
Requirements
- Provide clerical support services to specific Sections within Development Services.
- Provide a word processing and typing service to specific Sections within Development Services.
- Organise incoming and outgoing mail for specific Sections within Development Services.
- Provide a reception service for specific Sections within Development Services.
- Maintain a comprehensive filing system for specific Sections within Development Services.
- Provide cover for the other Clerical Assistants/WPOs within Development Services.
- Provide a secretarial support service to specific Sections within Development Services.
The Individual
- Previous experience in a busy office environment in a clerical/administrative role using relevant technology e.g. photocopier, E-mail, Intra/Internet.
- Experience in Microsoft Office.
- 4 SQA Standard Grades or equivalent at level 3 or above including English and Secretarial Studies (or equivalent) *
- Ability to use initiative when required.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form.
- Strong customer care skills and focus.
- Self-confidence.
- Self motivated.
- Demonstrate ability in relation to accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective organisational skills including time management.
- Ability to prioritise workload.
- Ability to relate well with all levels of staff.
- Willingness to accept direction/delegation.
- Understanding of importance of effective team working.
- Appreciation, acceptance of and a commitment to the importance of confidentiality.
- Ability to work in an open plan office.
- Flexibility to meet the needs and demands of the service.
- Ability to work in different offices dependent upon service requirements.
£13.26 per hour. 36.25 hours per week.
Temporary contract (6 months).
