Job description

As a Cleaning Supervisor/Porter at Sodexo in HMRC Worthing, you'll supervise cleaning services to create a safe and healthy environment. You'll interact with your team and our clients daily, and you'll be improving the quality of life in everyone you meet!

What you'll do:

• Ensure completion of all requested/contracted tasks and motivate your team to effectively ensure these are completed in a timely and thorough manner.
• Oversee all areas of an office, including kitchens, toilets, and communal areas, to ensure they are kept clean and hygienic.
• Oversee the ordering of stock and consumables such as toilet tissue, cleaning products, and appliances.
• Be a champion of health and safety practices - spot a near miss? Report it to keep your colleagues safe!
• Ensure regular safety walks are completed to pick up any hazards.
• Conduct frequent feedback sessions with your team to ensure they are confident and happy in their roles.

What you bring:

Essential:

• Demonstrate experience of working in a similar role within the service industry at a comparable level in a company.
• Ability to solve problems and liaise with your line manager to implement appropriate actions.
• Previous experience of working in a standards-driven/compliance environment.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety and COSHH regulations.
• Ability to prioritise and deploy resources effectively.
• Able to perform manual handling duties that may be required in line with certain cleaning equipment and tasks.

Desirable:

• Client relationship experience.
• Awareness of quality management systems e.g. ISO.
• IOSH qualification.
• British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICS) qualified.
• Knowledge of external cleaning developments and innovations.
• Experience of working within a military environment.
• Previous experience of effectively supervising a team.
• Leadership skills and knowledge.

Package Description:

• 37.5 hours per week.
• Week 1: Monday to Friday 07:00 - 15:00, Week 2: Monday - Friday 10:00 - 18:00.
• £12.89 per hour.
