Job description

Post Title: Cleaner
Site: Littledown Leisure Centre
Geographical Location: Bournemouth
Salary: £23,557 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
The role:

Do you want to help us ensure our BH Live Active – Leisure leisure centre is kept clean and tidy? If so, we are looking for a part-time cleaner to join our team.

Set in 47 acres of parkland, Littledown has some of the finest leisure, swimming, football, and gym facilities in the country.

It is ranked among the top performing leisure centres in the UK, is accredited by quality scheme QUEST, and is a National Fitness Award winner for the Local Authority/Leisure Trust Gym of the Year and finalist for the Best Group Exercise Gym of the Year.

It has more than 1.2 million attendances a year and is home to clubs including BH Live’s Swimming Academy, Swim Bournemouth, Littledown Juniors Football Club, and Play Football. Indoor facilities include 25-metre and 17-metre swimming pools for lane swimming, public swimming sessions, pool-based classes, and lessons. There is also a splash pool, steam room, and sauna.

You will:
  1. Undertake cleaning as per the cleaning schedule.
  2. Complete and ensure you sign off the task list as and when jobs are completed to the required standards.
  3. Ensure all cleaning materials and equipment are used and stored in line with health and safety and COSHH guidelines.
  4. Ensure you comply with all health and safety requirements.
  5. Attend training as and when required.
To be successful you will need:
  1. A good knowledge of cleaning procedures.
  2. To be proactive, self-motivated, and flexible.
  3. Experience of working in a customer-facing environment.

Due to the nature of our business, hours of work will include weekends, bank holidays, and evenings aligned to the centre's opening hours.
