About us

We specialise in the restoration and repair of Morris Minors, ranging from regular servicing and modifications, through to full nut and bolt restorations. Our premises is based in Stonegate, East Sussex and is fully equipped to carry out all aspects of mechanical and bodywork restoration.

Classic Car Mechanic/Restoration Technician

We are looking for a Mechanic/Restoration Technician to join our small team in the heart of East Sussex.

We are looking for candidates with a keen eye for detail to join our team, who always strive for perfection and wish to work in an environment where quality comes above all else.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. General vehicle maintenance including regular servicing, thorough check overs and breakdown repairs
  2. Vehicle strip-down and assembly, parts cataloguing, refurbishment and overhaul of all vehicle parts, brake/fuel pipe replacement, general mechanical repairs and servicing, vehicle underseal/underbody coating application, corrosion protection, general vehicle restoration tasks
  3. Fault diagnosis (mechanical and electrical), mechanical repair and overhaul of components, in-depth vehicle inspections and working on small to large projects on a wide range of vehicles
  4. Working independently to complete projects to a high standard without constant supervision, managing your own project efficiently including producing parts lists and completion of detailed job records

Desirable skills for this role include:

  1. Classic vehicle servicing and inspection experience, tyre fitting, wheel alignment, vehicle interior/exterior trim strip & fit experience, a proven track record in carrying out minor to major mechanical repairs and general fault finding/diagnosis/electrical works
  2. Experience in complete vehicle builds within the classic car restoration or motorsport industry would be a distinct advantage
  3. Experience in engine and transmission removal/repair is a distinct advantage but not essential

All candidates are expected to:

  1. Have a keen eye for detail, enjoy working to the very highest of standards and always strive for perfection, take pride in the quality of their work, and have a strong interest in classic cars
  2. Have at least 3 years experience in a relevant field within the automotive industry, be comfortable working as part of a small team and able work to independently without constant supervision
  3. Have good communication skills, a positive ‘can-do’ attitude, a strong work ethic, and be punctual/organised
  4. Maintain a clean and organised work environment
  5. Have a positive approach to learning new skills and working as part of a team
  6. Hold a Full UK Driving Licence

This role is a full-time position working Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5.30pm.

All candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of our premises in Stonegate, East Sussex TN5 7DU.
