Qualifications

  • Experienced driver with a category C licence and full CPC Card required.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and Tachograph legislation is essential.

Job description

Role: Class 2 Driver

Location: Ashford, Staines

Hours: Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week - start time between 06:00-10:00

Salary: £33,000

A fantastic opportunity has now arisen for a Class 2 Driver to join our client's successful team in Ashford, Staines.

About our client:
The market leader in High Tech Logistics solutions & a trusted partner to some of the leading global medical & technical product manufacturers.

About the role:
Day to day driving of various vehicles within the UK, delivering, offloading, positioning and installation of Customer equipment as required - 40% of role driving, 60% installation.

Roles & responsibilities:
  1. General driving duties as required within the UK in any class of vehicle up to that permitted by the driving licence
  2. Vehicle checks in line with the Staff Handbook & the reporting of defects and all accidents/incidents and near-hits
  3. Loading and Unloading of vehicles ensuring correct equipment is loaded and all goods are checked, secure and fit for transit
  4. Delivery, offloading, positioning and installing as required for various customer jobs
  5. Manual handling, carrying, lifting and installation as required of customer equipment
  6. Maintaining and cleaning of vehicles as required
  7. Completing delivery paperwork, timesheets and other paperwork as required for each job
  8. If nominated Team Leader of the job you will be required to be responsible for the supervision and guidance of your assistants and ensure Safety Briefings take place
  9. Maintain the standards of the company as defined in ISO9001 and ISO14001
  10. You may be required to undertake other tasks in line with the needs of the business
  11. On occasion you may be asked for your availability to work night shifts and at the weekend
  12. Responsible for escalating training needs on an on-going basis

Skills & experience:

  • Experienced driver with a category C licence and full CPC Card
  • Experience in the transportation and delivery of high tech, high value systems would be beneficial
  • Must be flexible with regards to hours
  • Ability to complete required timesheets and paperwork as required
  • Experience in dealing directly with customers contacts and good communication skills
  • Good team member with a flexible and can-do attitude
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
  • Knowledge of Tachograph legislation
  • Knowledge of the Working Time Directive
