Woodside Motorfreight has a reputation for market leading quality, compliance and efficiency. We are searching for high calibre, professional Class 1 drivers to join our team serving the motor industry, including manufacturers, dealer networks and auction houses, throughout the UK & Ireland.

What are we looking for?

We have an exciting opportunity for experienced Class 1 drivers to join our specialist Motorfreight division operating cross channel throughout Great Britain.

Job Role:

Starting your shift at 5pm on day 0 (the evening before day 1) you will proceed to a ferry for the overnight sailing to Ireland and be poised and ready for starting deliveries on day 1, spending the next 4 nights out completing deliveries and accompanying your vehicle back and forth across the Irish sea completing two round trips.

Ferries to/from Ireland will be commonplace each shift working as part of our Cross channel team.

Responsibilities:

1. Safe, efficient and responsible driving of Company vehicle.
2. Thorough inspection of vehicles for damage/parts shortage, followed by safe and damage free loading and securing of vehicles onto your transporter.
3. Delivery documents on electronic platforms using tablets or smart phones.

Rate of Pay:

Basic Rate = £15.45 per hour (first 40 hours per shift)

Overtime Rate = £17.51 per hour (After 40 hours per shift)

Overnight expenses £28 per night (if applicable)

Essential Criteria:

1. HGV Class C&E (Class 1) licence.
2. Digital tachograph card and driver's CPC qualification card.
3. Minimum 1 years CE driving experience.
4. Able to maintain a good standard of driving.
5. Clean license preferable but up to a maximum 6 points is acceptable.
6. Able to demonstrate right to work in the UK.
7. Good knowledge of drivers’ hours and WTD regulations.

Desirable Criteria:

Previous experience working within the automotive industry.

Training:

Full training on transporter equipment and all aspects of the role is provided on a one-on-one basis with one of our Driver Trainers.
