We’re looking for a Claims Handler to join our Connect Plus Services (CPS) team, supporting the M25 London Orbital Motorway Project. This unique role offers an exciting opportunity to work on Europe’s busiest motorway, managing claims and contributing to the smooth operation and maintenance of this vital infrastructure.

CPS is a joint venture between Balfour Beatty, AtkinsRéalis, and Egis, responsible for operating and maintaining the M25. As the busiest motorway in Europe, the M25 requires meticulous planning and management to deliver over £100m of annual investment in infrastructure improvements, alongside planned and reactive maintenance activities.

As a Claims Handler, you will play a pivotal role in managing and recovering costs associated with repairs and damages across the network.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing claims efficiently to ensure timely progress and resolution.
  • Handling claims and credit control in a target-driven environment.
  • Collecting and processing information for various types of claims.
  • Assisting with reimbursement processes for costs incurred by third parties (“red claims”).
  • Recovering repair costs from third-party damages (“green claims”).
  • Delivering exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preparing documentation and correspondence to address claim details.
  • Negotiating settlements with insurers and the public.
  • Chasing outstanding invoices and reporting on claims progress.
  • Responding promptly to claims-related queries.
  • Meeting team targets while adhering to claims processes, policies, and regulations.
  • Proposing and implementing process improvements, including LEAN practices.
Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Background in credit control, administration, or claims management (preferably within highways services or insurance).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer literacy and administrative abilities.
Why Work for Us

Day in, day out, our teams deliver some of the UK’s most ambitious and meaningful projects, developing, building, and maintaining the vital infrastructure that supports national economies and strengthens communities.

Why join us?
In addition to contributing to life-changing projects, we offer a comprehensive range of benefits. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Smart working: Flexibility with staggered start/finish times and up to 40% remote working (role-dependent).
  • Paid leave: 25 days annual leave (pro rata).
  • Family-friendly policies: Including 28 weeks of full pay for maternity/adoption leave and four weeks of full pay for paternity/partners leave.
  • Additional benefits: Pension, share incentive plans, volunteering leave, recognition schemes, and much more.
About Us:

CPS represents an exciting collaboration between industry giants Balfour Beatty, AtkinsRéalis, and Egis! Together, we spearhead the operation and maintenance of none other than the M25—the bustling heartbeat of European motorways. Imagine the thrill of orchestrating over £100 million of annual investment into this vital highway infrastructure, meticulously planning and executing projects amidst the constant flow of traffic.

We foster diversity and inclusivity in our workplace, actively welcoming applications from qualified individuals of all backgrounds. Regardless of race, colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, genetic information, disability, or veteran status, all are encouraged to apply. Our goal is to cultivate a supportive and respectful environment where every employee can excel. If you need accommodations during the recruitment process, please inform us.

Location:

This is a hybrid role designed to fully maximize team collaboration on the project; we therefore expect a minimum of 60% of your time to be spent at a CPS office.
