About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Claims Handler to join a dynamic, independent chartered commercial insurance broker. You'll play a key role in handling a diverse range of claims across both commercial and personal lines.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Assess and review insurance claims to determine liability and policy coverage
2. Acknowledge new claims promptly and maintain clear communication with clients and insurers throughout the claims process
3. Investigate claims thoroughly, gathering evidence and documentation as required
4. Negotiate settlements with claimants, insurers, and third parties
5. Ensure all claims are processed efficiently and within regulatory guidelines (FCA)
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all claims activity
7. Operate a robust diary system to ensure timely follow-ups and resolution
8. Consistently deliver high levels of customer service and promote best practices
9. Build and maintain strong relationships with both clients and insurers
10. Stay informed about industry developments, particularly in insurance and childcare sectors
11. Support Account Executives with detailed claims reports on larger or complex cases
12. Take part in training, assessment, and ongoing personal development within your T&C scheme

What We're Looking For:

Experience & Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 3 years' experience in commercial insurance claims
2. Minimum of 5 GCSEs A-C (or equivalent) including Maths and English
3. Familiarity with a range of claims classes is highly desirable

Key Skills:

1. Strong verbal and written communication
2. Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
3. Confident negotiator with strong analytical skills
4. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
5. Effective time management and ability to prioritise tasks
6. Team-oriented with a proactive attitude
