SiriusPoint International is searching for a Marine Adjuster to be based in our London office to service Marine portfolios Underwritten across the UK and Continental Europe.
As a Claims Adjuster for Marine, you will be part of a team responsible for the day-to-day oversight of all Marine losses including day-to-day claims investigation, adjudication, and settlement of a portfolio of Marine losses arising through Hull, Cargo, Hull War, Ports and Terminals, and Fine Art & Specie portfolios.
Products are Underwritten through Open Market, Delegated and MGA’s on both our Syndicate and Company platform.
Your Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day claims oversight, investigation, adjudication, and settlement of a portfolio of Marine losses arising through Hull, Cargo, Hull War, Ports and Terminals, and Fine Art & Specie portfolios.
- Oversight of Delegated claim handling entities associated with Marine classes.
- Acting as a technical referral point for all losses above individual contractual Delegated Authorities.
- Ensuring Delegated Authority is not breached and that claims reporting is accurate and timely.
- Liaising with Governance team to ensure DCA auditing is planned and executed against agreed annual planning cycles.
- Monitoring of DCA claim performance against agreed SLA’s.
- Management of Marine claims arising on Open Market Lloyd’s business.
- Ensuring compliant claims handling, aligned to SiriusPoint International, UK Branch and Syndicate 1945 processes.
- Oversight of reserve accuracy metrics aligned to both in-house and delegated claims.
- Working to agreed internal claims reporting for large and/or topical claims.
- Instruction and ongoing performance management of Legal partner and Surveyors at both panel and individual claim level.
- Ensuring early escalation of large and topical claims arising under the various delegated arrangements and ensuring that effective internal triage measures are in place.
- Ensuring all duties are performed in accordance with company and regulatory policies and procedures, including TCF, Lloyd’s oversight from the FCA Individual Conduct Rules and within assigned Reserving and Settlement Authority.
- Effective alignment with relevant business functions within SiriusPoint, including Senior Management, Legal, Compliance, Underwriting, Technical Accounting, and Actuarial.
- Continually strive to remain current in relation to global Insurance and Reinsurance knowledge, developments relating to the industry and claims environment.
- Monitor risk within the delegated portfolios against agreed SiriusPoint risk appetite/tolerances, ensuring early escalation to claims leadership of risk events/control failures.
- Any other duties as reasonably required.
Technical Skills & Experience
- ACII qualified or equivalent.
- Significant claims handling experience across a broad range of Marine subclasses.
- The ability to analyse claims data and use data to inform strategic decisions at both an individual claim and portfolio level.
- Working knowledge of the Lloyd’s Claims Scheme and Lloyd’s Delegated Oversight Framework.
- Commitment to further training and knowledge gathering through attendance at market seminars, undertaking training courses and being active in relevant professional networks.
- The ability to demonstrate sound judgment and make insightful decisions under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to represent the company (and its clients) effectively and professionally within the market.
- The ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Team player, with the ability to mentor/assist in the development of employees.
- Strong IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, ECF.
