Job description

Overview

We are hiring Civils Site Operatives to work on projects for the Environment Agency in the South East.

• £18 per hour

• Travel and overnight stays will be part of the role

We specialise in sustainable water asset management solutions, delivering exceptional value outcomes in potable water, wastewater, and the environment.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering works on a variety of environmental sites:

  1. Ensure you follow the Company Management System, including but not limited to risk assessments, method statements, construction phase plans, etc.
  2. Assist with the preparation of sites, including unloading and storing of building materials and plant.
  3. Store, handle, use, and dispose of materials in the correct manner.
  4. Perform physical tasks including but not limited to basic timber shuttering, concreting, drainage, strimming, digging, and other general maintenance and construction labourer duties.
  5. Where required or necessary, operate heavy machinery in conjunction with CPCS training e.g. diggers/dumpers.
  6. Maintain a safe and tidy working environment including wearing full PPE at all times.
  7. Follow all training and reasonable instructions given.
  8. Work safely within or close to rivers and other watercourses, at height, and in confined spaces.
  9. Have an awareness of the protection & preservation of wildlife and habitat.
  10. Demonstrate good driving skills in company vans, where driving will be monitored and tracked.
  11. Be willing to travel and work away from home, as and when required.
  12. On occasion, be willing to be placed on standby for out-of-hours call-outs to assist our clients in emergency response situations.
Who we’re looking for

You will have prior experience working on civil construction sites, with a strong background in deep drainage, concrete pouring, and steel fixing.

  1. Experience of working safely in a high-risk environment.
  2. Ability to act on initiative, particularly in respect to Health & Safety and report relevant matters.
  3. Hold a CSCS card SEATS and INNS - or be willing to obtain.
  4. Full UK driving licence.
