Civil to Senior Infrastructure (Drainage & Highways) Design Engineer

Location: Bedford
Salary: £42,000 - £52,000 (Depending on Experience)

About the Company

This well-respected, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking for a talented Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join their growing civils team of 14. The team consists of engineers, transport planners, and technicians who work on a variety of projects across the UK. The Role

As a Civil Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be a key member of the civil engineering team, working on a diverse range of residential and non-residential projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Design & Drafting (50% drainage, 50% highways)
  2. Using CAD (Microstation preferred, but not essential) to produce road and highway designs
  3. Preparing technical design submissions (S38/S278/S104) for approval
  4. Conducting Flood Risk Assessments and developing Surface Water & Foul Water Drainage Strategies for planning applications
  5. Liaising with clients, consultants, and local authorities
  6. Using Microdrainage/Flow software to model drainage networks
  7. Reviewing and contributing to site masterplans to ensure compliance with drainage and flood risk regulations

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking candidates who have:

  1. 2-3+ years' experience in highways/roads and drainage design (residential sector preferred)
  2. Strong knowledge of UK Drainage & Flood Risk Regulations
  3. Experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments & Drainage Strategy documents
  4. Proficiency in Microdrainage/Flow, Microstation/AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
  5. Experience in preparing and reviewing planning support documents
