Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a civil / structural technician to support one of our nuclear clients based out of Whitehaven or Preston in the following work:
Working in a team with experienced engineers and technicians
This is a full-time, permanent position, based in either our Whitehaven or Preston office, with potential working from home by mutual agreement as per Westlakes informal Working at Home Policy.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting with, or carrying out, site inspections and surveys
Preparing drawings from feasibility through to detailed design and construction using Revit, AutoCAD and SketchUp
The design/assessment of structures for a wide range of nuclear and other projects.
Qualifications Required
HNC/D in Civil Engineering or equivalent
Skills/Experience & Behaviours - Essential
Interest in the design of the built environment, a desire to learn and be challenged
Good experience of Revit, AutoCAD & SketchUp
Good experience of steelwork fabrication drawings
Good numerical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
The aptitude to work on your own initiative and be proactive
Planned and organised approach to work and meeting deadlines
Commitment to the successful delivery of projects and meeting the needs of our clients.
A full drivers licence

Experience of working in the nuclear industry
Experience of working in the water industry
Preparing RC detail drawings
