Our Client has a requirement for a Civil & Structural Construction Supervisor, who will be required to work on a Contract basis in Dalry.

  • Are you eligible to work permanently in the UK without a work permit?
  • Do you have extensive experience in construction supervision within the process industry, preferably on EPCM projects?

Description

  • As an instrumental part of the construction delivery team, focusing on the delivery of a major construction project in Scotland, you will be based on-site daily, with one of BakerHicks' key clients in the Life Science industry.
  • As an experienced Civil and Structural Construction Supervisor, you will oversee construction work being carried out on our EPCM project.
  • This role is critical for ensuring that all civil and structural construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and timelines.
  • This role is site-based, with substantial time spent in the field overseeing construction activities. The ideal candidate will preferably reside in the area (or surrounds), and able to travel to site daily.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision: Oversee and manage civil and structural construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and standards.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with construction and project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of construction activities.
  • Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to ensure that all work meets regulatory and company standards.
  • Safety Management: Promote a culture of safety on-site, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
  • Schedule Management: Assist in the development and maintenance of the construction schedule, ensuring timely completion of all civil and structural works.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on construction progress, challenges, and achievements for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues that arise during the construction process promptly.

Requirements

  • Education: HND or HNC in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in construction supervision within the process industry, preferably on EPCM projects.
  • Strong supervision and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent understanding of civil and structural engineering principles.
  • Proficient in use of basic software and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.

  • The role is primarily site-based, requiring the candidate to work in various outdoor environments and in close proximity to heavy machinery.
  • The candidate must be willing to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by the project schedule.
