Civil Litigation Lawyer

Locum Civil Litigation Lawyer – London – Competitive rate - Hybrid working once a fortnight in office or at court – Full time

Up to £55 umbrella per hour

London authority

3 months initially

36 hours per week, 1 day per fortnight office or court attendance

Venn Group is working with a brilliant local authority in London in their search for a Civil Litigation Lawyer on a locum basis for an initial 3 month period.

Requirements:

1. A valid practising certificate in England as a Solicitor, Barrister or a Fellow of CILEX
2. Specialism within Civil Litigation and evidence of practising this post-qualification
3. Experience working within local authorities, or for a public sector organisation

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Expert knowledge and understanding of law and legislation relating to civil litigation
2. Provide legal advice and prepare complex and straightforward documentation relating to debt recovery
3. Provide legal advice on licensing matters
4. Conduct straightforward and intricate civil, regulatory, and prosecution matters, including but not limited to: considering evidence, drafting summons, preparing initial details of prosecution case, complying with disclosure, preparing trial and confiscation bundles and drafting civil court pleadings
5. Advocate effectively on behalf of the Council before courts, tribunals and other bodies
