Civil General Foreman

Elvet Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced General Foreman on behalf of a thriving civil engineering main contractor to work on projects across their Severn Trent region (primarily West Midlands).

This international main contractor is a well-known name in the industry with a strong reputation for quality across all divisions. They are a key delivery partner for Severn Trent Water alongside many other Water clients nationwide. This role falls within their Severn Trent Water South team (mainly delivering projects around the West Midlands area).

Several large projects secured within 20 miles of Kidderminster providing good local longevity of several years along with a busy framework of other projects in Coventry, Leicester, etc. Initial 3 project values £10m to £50m+.

Projects include large Waste Water Treatment Works upgrades, chemical dosing systems, pumping stations, sludge tanks, bio-filters, storm tanks, etc. (All work in a water treatment/sewage treatment works setting covering full civils & MEICA packages).

Duties/Responsibilities as General Foreman:

1. Assisting Site Agent and Project Manager in delivery of schemes.
2. Site setup involvement.
3. Daily briefings with staff on site.
4. HSE toolbox talks.
5. Directing multiple gangs in daily delivery of work.
6. Managing sub-contractors.
7. Briefing RAMS.
8. Ordering materials.
9. Involvement with progress reports & meetings.
10. Plant checks & permits.

Experience required as General Foreman:

1. Must have experience as General Foreman on civil engineering schemes for Yorkshire Water/Severn Trent Water or a similar client.
2. Must have experience delivering: WwTW, water treatment, RC works, heavy civils, concrete works, flood defence, etc.
3. Must hold: CSCS, SMSTS or SSSTS, First Aid, and a full driving license.
4. Beneficial: Temporary Works, EUSR Water, Appointed Person, etc.

Remuneration:

A salary of up to £58,000 (dependent upon experience) plus:

EV/hybrid vehicle or allowance, increased fuel expenses, 26 days + statutory annual leave, family healthcare, 7.5% pension scheme, and other benefits.
