Have you considered taking your engineering career onto the waterways of England & Wales? We are not always the first place that an Engineer would think of advancing their career; however, with significant investment over the next decade in our amazing historical heritage waterways, we have a number of engineering opportunities to offer. Our Engineering teams are key in supporting our vision and delivering our Waterways and Wellbeing strategy across England & Wales, ensuring our national waterways, reservoirs, and infrastructure are managed & maintained, as well as new developments and improvements are in place for our visitors, customers & service users to benefit from.

The job holder will be directly responsible for assisting with the prioritisation of defects identified as part of the asset management process and providing technical support to both the engineering team and the wider business.
The Engineer Technician will also, under the supervision of a member of the Engineering team, undertake monitoring of asset-related defects and investigate issues, as well as develop small works packages for delivery and compose briefs for larger schemes.
Location & Coverage
The Engineer Technician vacancy will be offered on a remote working basis, with a requirement to attend our main hub spaces as and when required for team working and collaborative meetings. Significant travel throughout the regional waterway network will also be expected to enable site visits and to conduct improvements. Relevant Hubs: Gloucester or Newbury.
The regularity & flexibility of travel will be discussed further at the interview stage. Regular accessibility to this network is essential.
