Job description

Job Description:

RETTEW, an employee-owned engineering consulting firm, is seeking Civil/Site Engineers for our Land Development design team in Lancaster, PA, and Allentown, PA. As a Land Development Engineer, you will be responsible for performing engineering design and permitting tasks for development projects in the industrial, commercial, and residential development markets. You will work under the supervision of the project manager and/or a senior engineer. This position will require in-office work at our Lancaster, PA office until you are fully onboarded (3-6 months).

Responsibilities:
Technical Responsibilities
  1. Performs engineering design for land development projects, including stormwater and erosion and sediment control design, NPDES permitting, etc.
  2. Assists on tasks such as field activities, material testing, CADD work, permit applications, and report writing.
  3. Collects data and gathers information or documents.
  4. Assists with preparation of engineering deliverables.
  5. Assists in researching applicable regulations.
  6. Observes construction activities.
Program, Project, and Task Management
  1. Responsible for personal task management and adherence to deadlines and scope.
  2. Follows tasks through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
Communication and Teamwork
  1. Possesses basic oral and written communication skills.
  2. Acknowledges and practices basic principles of formal/informal communication, teamwork, and leadership.
  3. Interacts primarily with internal project team members.
Requirements:
  1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.
  2. Recent graduate to 5 years of experience.
  3. EIT certification is a plus.
  4. Strong technical, design, and writing skills.
  5. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MS Office, and stormwater programs (Hydraflow and/or HydroCAD).
  6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
