Job description

Principal Civil Engineer required to work on a contract basis (inside IR35) on an LNG FEED project for our client, a global oil & gas engineering contractor, based at their offices in Surrey.


Previous oil & gas sector project experience is essential for this role.


Job Specification:

As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will support the lead in the preparation of engineering deliverables within the scope assigned:

  1. Design basis, material and construction specifications
  2. Ability to independently perform engineering studies and produce recommendation reports
  3. Familiarity with American and Euro norm design codes and standards
  4. Coordinate, direct and review analysis/calculations, typically:
  5. Structures - buildings, equipment support structures, pipe racks, culverts/bridges, earth retaining structures
  6. Foundations - shallow, piled as appropriate
  7. Civil infrastructure - site preparation earthworks, roads
  8. Preparing material take-offs

The work will involve liaising with other disciplines, client and 3rd party contractors and coordinating and working with project team members across global offices to deliver the tasks within allotted timelines and budgets.


Experience Required:

Typically the required competency and skills would have been built up over a 12+ year period working for a consultant engineering company or end user company. Previous experience working on Aramco projects is essential.


Job Details:
  1. Start date: ASAP
  2. Working hours: 40 hrs per week/5 days - office based
  3. Location: Surrey
  4. Rate: c. £62-64 p/h - Umbrella Company rate

Please note that this role is deemed to fall inside of IR35, so only PAYE or Umbrella Company contract workers are accepted. All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
