Civil Engineer
Location: Warwick, Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days wfh)
Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Experience Level: Ideally 2+ Years

Project Partners are now recruiting for an experienced Civil Engineer with 2 years experience post Graduate position. This is a great opportunity to join a fantastic engineering consulting company based in Warwick. The ideal candidate will already be skilled in Civils 3D and can hit the ground running with it when they join the team.

Main Duties:

  1. Conduct pre-purchase feasibility studies and resolve planning conditions, including drainage feasibility and highway considerations.
  2. Perform flood risk assessments, with flood modelling undertaken by the in-house team.
  3. Produce detailed drawings and calculations for technical approval of adoptable highways and drainage systems, in compliance with Building Control, NHBC, S278, S38, S104, and other regulations.
  4. Prepare 3D ground models for volume calculations, cut and fill exercises, vertical road profiles, and other related tasks.
  5. Design work for water and wastewater authorities, though prior experience in this sector is not essential.
  6. Collaborate with colleagues from the in-house structural engineering, geo-environmental, hydraulic modelling, and transport planning teams to deliver multi-disciplinary projects.
  7. Assist in assessing variations of cost and timescales, and reach agreements with clients and customer organisations, in collaboration with in-house project managers.
  8. Represent the company at meetings, public exhibitions, planning committees, and public inquiries when required. Undertake site inspections as needed.
  9. Contribute to project management and control for suitable projects.
  10. Support the training and professional development of team members.
  11. Exercise due care and diligence in all aspects of engineering design and detailing.

Education & Experience:

  1. Relevant experience and a degree in a ‘built environment’ discipline, with progress towards membership in the Institution of Civil Engineers or a similar professional body.
  2. Applicants with an HND/C or significant relevant experience are also welcomed.
  3. Experience with Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), Suds, and Pre-Planning Advice.
  4. Working knowledge of drainage and highway design, including S38, S278, and S104 agreements.
  5. Experience with building regulations for designing building drainage, SuDS, private external works, and ground levels.
  6. Experience with software like MicroDrainage WinDES, FLOW, Tuflow (optional), and HECRAS (optional).
  7. Proficiency in AutoCAD/Autodesk Civil 3D.
  8. A working appreciation of highway and general structures.
  9. Experience with utilities coordination and the diversion of services (but not essential).
  10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software packages, such as Excel and Word.
