We are currently partnering with an established groundworks subcontractor in the Greater Manchester area to find a skilled and motivated freelance Civil Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile construction projects and contribute to the delivery of high-quality groundworks solutions.

Position Overview:

As a Freelance Civil Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of groundworks on construction sites across the Greater Manchester area. You will collaborate closely with site managers, contractors, and other engineering professionals to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide civil engineering expertise for groundworks projects, including drainage, foundations, and earthworks.
2. Coordinate site surveys and manage site investigations.
3. Prepare and review technical drawings, designs, and specifications.
4. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and quality controls.
5. Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and site management teams.
6. Provide technical support and guidance to site teams.
7. Monitor and report on project progress, costs, and any potential issues.
8. Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and other necessary documentation.

1. Proven experience as a Civil Engineer with a focus on groundworks, particularly in the construction or infrastructure sector.
2. Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and relevant UK regulations.
3. Excellent technical skills in design software and project management tools.
4. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
5. Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
6. Relevant degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
7. Chartered status (ICE or equivalent) is preferred but not essential.
8. Previous experience working as a freelance civil engineer is advantageous.
9. Full UK driving license and own transport.
