Position:
Role Purpose
The Investment Advisor acts as support for the CIO, in his liaison with the sales and marketing team, our various investment managers (internal and external), investment risk team, and the product governance function. S/he also supports the CIO and the wider business in developing the investment proposition.
Key Responsibilities
Oversight & Governance
- Attend formal monthly CIO reviews of Marlborough’s investment and oversight activities
- Join and record bi-annual reviews of Marlborough’s funds
- Conduct fund analysis (e.g. performance attribution, competitor analysis, liquidity analysis, risk exposure, style biases) to support Oversight, Investment Managers and generate collateral for the Distribution team
- Review all fund commentaries (interim and final) across the Marlborough funds for statutory Report & Accounts
- To review and update investment process documentation
Proposition
- Support CIO in developing, agreeing and implementing a Fund Roadmap for the on-going evolution of Marlborough’s investment proposition
- Understanding the competitive environment and clients’ needs to support Marlborough’s future plans
- Maintain awareness of Consumer Duty and other regulatory developments and assist in ensuring that all external communications regarding the Marlborough fund range conform to relevant requirements.
Distribution
- Collect and collate data from multiple sources to summarise key messages for sales and marketing teams
- Support the Distribution team by providing clear articulation of the funds’ competitive advantages, performance, recent transactions, etc
- Help to tailor and edit content (for example, presentations, commentaries, RFP/RFI content and competitor analysis) to reinforce core fund messages and make appropriate for onward distribution.
- Join monthly meetings with sales team to provide insight into the market environment, and the drivers of performance and risks of Marlborough’s funds
- Help schedule and script regular and ad hoc podcasts, webinars, presentations and other literature, to provide insight and information to clients regarding the performance and characteristics of Marlborough funds
