Teaching Assistants – PMLD Support
Harrogate & Surrounding Areas | Flexible Work | Rewarding Role

Do you have experience supporting children with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)? We are looking for compassionate and proactive Teaching Assistants to work in specialist provisions across Harrogate.

About the Role:

  • Provide tailored support to children with complex needs.
  • Assist with communication, mobility, and personal care where necessary.
  • Work alongside teachers and therapists to implement individual learning plans.
  • Use sensory and interactive teaching techniques to engage students.
  • Foster independence and encourage confidence in a supportive environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children with PMLD or SEN needs.
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable nature.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to assist with medical and personal care when needed.

Preferred Training (Not Essential):

  • Moving and Handling certification.
  • Makaton or alternative communication training.
  • Experience with assistive technology for SEN pupils.
  • Team Teach or behaviour support training.
