Family Support Worker - West Area Team

Location: Coundon Office, 82 Moseley Avenue, Coventry, CV6 1AB

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: £15.58 per hour

Contract: 3-Month contract with a view to be extended

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join Coventry City Council as a Family Support Worker. As a Family Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting children, young people, and families who are facing challenges. Working as a Key Worker, you will assess needs, develop support plans, and provide tailored interventions to help families build resilience and achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage a caseload of children with additional needs, ensuring effective support plans are in place.
2. Build strong, trusting relationships with families to encourage engagement and positive change.
3. Work in partnership with social workers and other professionals to deliver integrated support.
4. Conduct assessments in line with local policies and national guidance.
5. Provide individual and group-based interventions to children and families.

What We're Looking For:

1. Experience working directly with children, young people, and families in a statutory or voluntary setting.
2. A strong understanding of child development, safeguarding, and the challenges families face, including mental health issues, domestic abuse, substance misuse, and poverty.
3. Ability to assess needs and create structured, goal-driven support plans.
4. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role.
