Chief Technology Officer (Portfolio CTO for a Venture Capital Fund)

Position: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Venture capital (VC) firm with a diverse portfolio of innovative and high-growth businesses (predominantly financial service / fintech). Our portfolio companies are at different stages of development, from early-stage startups to established entities looking to scale rapidly. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to provide strategic leadership and technical expertise across our portfolio companies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement technology strategies to drive growth and innovation across the portfolio of businesses.

2. Collaborate with executive teams and founders to align technology initiatives with business goals and objectives.

3. Lead a team of tech professionals within each portfolio company, providing guidance and mentorship to foster a culture of excellence and innovation.

4. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for digital transformation and competitive advantage.

5. Evaluate and recommend technology solutions, tools, and platforms to optimize business operations and enhance customer experiences.

6. Ensure that each portfolio company's technology infrastructure is secure, scalable, and compliant with industry regulations and best practices.

7. Drive the development and execution of product roadmaps, prioritizing features and enhancements to meet market demands and customer needs.

8. Manage relationships with external tech vendors, partners, and service providers to support the technology needs of each portfolio company.

9. Represent the portfolio companies in technology-related discussions with investors, clients, and other stakeholders.

10. Monitor and analyze key performance metrics and KPIs to measure the impact of technology initiatives on business outcomes.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or equivalent business experience is a plus.

- Proven experience as a CTO or senior technology executive, preferably within a VC-backed startup or high-growth company environment.

- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a track record of successfully implementing technology initiatives that drive business growth.

- Excellent leadership and communication abilities, with a collaborative and results-oriented approach to team management.

- In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and data analytics.

- Familiarity with VC funding and investment processes, as well as the dynamics of working in a multi-company portfolio structure.
