Taster, an innovative scale-up in the foodtech sector, is redefining quick-service food and is looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology strategy and build a team that can support our growth.

Founded in 2017, we are a food incubator redefining quick-service food for the 21st century. The business has been growing over 100% YoY on average over the last 3 years. With a unique, highly scalable business model and enviable unit economics (well above industry standards), Taster has reached over €100m in yearly GMV in January 2024.

Operating within the global online food delivery market that is expected to be worth $365 billion by 2030 and backed by Tier-1 investors, Taster is the biggest operator in Europe and is expanding across different countries.

Your role

As Taster's CTO, you will spearhead our technology vision and play a key role in product development, engineering management, and digital strategy. Working closely with our CEO and other leadership members, you'll align technology initiatives with business goals, leverage technology to drive business growth and kitchen efficiencies, and develop/benchmark solutions for robotics in kitchens. This role is for a hands-on leader with experience in scaling tech teams, fostering innovation, and driving transformation.

You will lead a team of 14 people split among Product, Front and Back End engineers, and the Data team.

Our Tech solutions cover all aspects of our business:

• Solution for kitchen operations
• Solution for franchisees to monitor their overall performance
• Solution on Supply for Order management
• Internal Back end tools
• Automation of processes
• BI

Our Tech stack is mainly: Python, React, and Typescript based on a Google Cloud serverless structure.

Responsibilities

• Technology Strategy: Define and implement Taster’s technology vision and strategy in alignment with the company’s growth objectives and mission.
• Product Development: Lead the engineering team to deliver high-quality, scalable, and reliable products, ensuring they meet customer and market needs.
• Infrastructure & Scalability: Oversee the design, deployment, and scaling of Taster’s technical infrastructure to support rapid growth.
• Team Leadership & Growth: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing technology team; foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
• Collaboration with Leadership: Work closely with other executives (CEO, COO, Head of Revenue) to ensure that technology aligns with overall business strategy and operational goals.
• Data & Analytics: Implement and optimize data-driven decision-making processes across all aspects of the business.
• Cybersecurity & Compliance: Ensure Taster’s platforms and systems are secure, compliant, and reliable, proactively managing risks.
• Budgeting & Resource Allocation: Manage the technology budget (People, Infra, Tooling), prioritizing resources effectively to drive the highest impact.
• Innovation: Keep up to date with robotics innovation in the kitchen industry.

Is it really for me?

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years in technology leadership roles, preferably within a scale-up or high-growth tech environment.
• Technical Expertise: Strong foundation in software development, systems architecture, and/or cloud infrastructure, with an understanding of the latest trends in tech.
• Strong product affinity, and Agile mindset & experience.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire a cross-functional tech team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Strategic Vision: Ability to translate business goals into a clear and actionable tech roadmap.
• Problem Solving: Adept at tackling complex challenges and driving innovative solutions.
• Communication: Excellent communicator with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
• Industry Knowledge: Experience in food-tech, digital commerce is a plus.
• Fluency in both French and English - another European language is a plus.
