Position Overview:

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for developing and executing the technology strategy to support Flint Capital’s business objectives, ensuring that all systems, infrastructure, and technology initiatives are designed, implemented, and maintained to meet the highest standards of security, performance, and compliance. The CTO will play a critical role in integrating Flint Capital’s services with The Currency Cloud (CC) and ensuring the secure and efficient operation of all payment and financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technology Strategy & Leadership:
    • Develop and implement the technology roadmap to align with Flint Capital’s strategic goals and growth objectives, including API integration with The Currency Cloud.
    • Lead and manage the technology team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring collaboration across all departments.
  2. Payment System & API Integration:
    • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of secure API connections with The Currency Cloud, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Manage the design and architecture of Flint Capital’s technology stack to ensure secure payment processing, including encryption methods, tokenization, and multi-factor authentication.
  3. Information Security & Risk Management:
    • Serve as the Information Security Officer (ISO), ensuring the protection of Flint Capital’s digital infrastructure and safeguarding sensitive payment data.
    • Lead the implementation of cybersecurity protocols, including vulnerability assessments, encryption, access controls, and incident response plans.
    • Oversee regular penetration testing and audits to identify and resolve security vulnerabilities.
  4. Data Protection & Compliance:
    • Ensure Flint Capital’s technology systems adhere to GDPR, PCI-DSS, and other relevant data protection standards.
    • Collaborate closely with the Compliance Officer to ensure that all technical aspects of the business comply with industry regulations and internal policies.
    • Ensure data integrity, privacy, and availability through secure infrastructure and database management.
  5. Infrastructure & IT Operations:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operation of Flint Capital’s IT infrastructure, including server management, network security, and cloud infrastructure.
    • Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and redundancy for all critical services.
    • Lead disaster recovery planning and testing, ensuring business continuity in case of system failures or cyber incidents.
  6. Team Leadership & Development:
    • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing technical team, including developers, IT support, and cybersecurity experts.
    • Promote a culture of innovation and collaboration within the team, ensuring the continuous improvement of Flint Capital’s technical infrastructure.
  7. Vendor & Partner Management:
    • Manage relationships with third-party service providers, including cloud hosting providers, security vendors, and payment processing partners like The Currency Cloud.
    • Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure best-in-class service and cost efficiency.

Key Qualifications:

  1. Experience:
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a senior technology leadership role, ideally within the fintech or financial services industry.
    • Proven experience in leading API integration projects, particularly in payments or e-money services.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in implementing information security policies, including encryption, firewalls, VPNs, and penetration testing.
  2. Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of API development, cloud computing, and security technologies.
    • Expertise in cybersecurity practices, including encryption methods (AES, TLS), tokenization, secure access controls, and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
    • Hands-on experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or other cloud platforms is preferred.
  3. Education:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  4. Certifications (preferred but not required):
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
    • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or similar.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From £100,000.00 per year
