McBride Sport are delighted to be supporting St Andrews Link Trust in their search for a Chief Operations Officer.
For more than 600 years, St Andrews Links, much like the game of golf itself, has evolved. Today nearly 250,000 rounds are played over their seven public courses. St Andrews Links Trust also manages a number of additional facilities including a golf academy, three clubhouses and four shops. As a charitable trust, all profits are reinvested into protecting and maintaining the world-famous courses and to enhancing the experience delivered to every visitor, whether local resident or a person making a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Home Of Golf.
Over recent years, St Andrews Links Trust has experienced significant growth and development, building on its legacy. This growth has been marked by initiatives and strategic investments aimed at enhancing both the golfing experience and the Trust’s broader operations. The Trust has successfully embarked on a series of capital projects, including improvements to its world-renowned courses and the development of new facilities that enhance visitor and player experiences. These projects have not only contributed to maintaining the high standards of the Links but have also positioned St Andrews as a forward-thinking leader in the global golf industry. In addition to infrastructure enhancements, the Trust has focused on expanding its business model, exploring new revenue streams, and diversifying offerings. This includes growth in golf tourism and an increased emphasis on sustainability and environmental responsibility.
As part of this growth, they are now looking to identify an individual for the newly created role of Chief Operations Officer (COO) capable of implementing new business initiatives and growth opportunities that align with the Trust’s strategic vision whilst being involved in and overseeing daily operations. Working closely with the leadership team in supporting the delivery of operational excellence to achieve their strategic objectives, the COO will also develop and execute new business initiatives, oversee capital investment projects, and take responsibility for the appraisal of a wide range of new opportunities.
This role represents a genuinely unique, once in a career opportunity to join one of the world’s most unique sporting brands in a senior leadership position. For further information or to receive a copy of the Candidate Information Pack please contact Nigel Brewster or Neil Edwards at McBride Sport.
