Chief Operating Officer

This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious operational leader with healthcare experience.

Our client is on a mission to reduce NHS waiting lists by providing specialist clinical services which expand capacity. Their deserved reputation for operational excellence has led to significant growth. This COO role has been created to support the next phase of their journey including an expansion of their range of clinical specialties.

You'll have the opportunity to shape the evolution of the organisation, taking the lead to implement robust and scalable systems and processes to maintain their excellent levels of service as they continue their rapid growth.

Responsibilities

  1. Ensure the efficient delivery of all support services, providing direct and indirect management of all non-clinical functions.
  2. With senior colleagues, create and deliver the strategic, operational and business development plan for the company.
  3. Build and nurture strong working relationships with clients and team of clinicians, and through these relationships identify opportunities for new services and development of existing services.
  4. Lead efforts to maximise patient activity, and in turn, revenue.
  5. Maintain compliance with all appropriate standards and frameworks.

Qualifications

  1. Proven leadership experience with a focus on operations.
  2. Experience with in a scaling-up company, ideally during a period of system and process development / implementation.
  3. Hands on, and capable of strategic thinking whilst simultaneously understanding and taking care of detailed operational matters.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a track-record of building strong stakeholder relationships with a variety of individuals.
  5. Sound financial skills with the ability to read and interpret financial data.
  6. Experience in commercial contract management, ideally including funders of healthcare, with experience of NHS standard contracts.
  7. Proven success in driving change to support growth – e.g. efficiency/ optimisation activities or implementation of new processes and/or IT systems.
  8. Line management experience, including recruitment, selection and development of staff.
  9. At least two years’ experience in a healthcare setting and in a similar role is highly advantageous.

Additional Information

Note, the role is based at our client's office in Redditch, so it's essential that you're able to commute there each day. There will also be occasional travel to client sites, so you'll need a full driving license.
