Job Summary
A one of a kind opportunity has become available with a reputable social care organisation in the UK, supporting adults with learning disabilities and those with mental health needs, physical disabilities, and complex needs. Our client is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to collaborate with the CEO and other Chief Officers in setting and driving organisational vision and operations strategy. The role is permanent, remote working with travel across the UK as needed and occasional presence required on premises for meetings/events. The company is headquartered in North England, Yorkshire. This role requires the post holder's commitment to servant leadership principles which are pivotal in creating a sustainable, positive, and person-led work environment, ensuring the delivery of exceptional health and social care services. The opportunity is best suited for Operations Directors, Business Directors, or Managing Directors with significant experience working within community-based, specialised health and social care organisations and a positive understanding and attitude of equality towards vulnerable people and colleagues.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Provide leadership and oversight management to Senior Managers and Operational Managers, to ensure that the business goals are delivered and to provide a bespoke ‘person-led’ service to everyone.
  2. Operational Leadership: Provide servant leadership and effective oversight to Operational functions.
  3. Business Leadership: Design and implement operational strategies, plans, and procedures to drive comprehensive goals for performance and growth.
  4. Quality and Compliance: Establish and uphold policies, procedures, processes, and measures of performance that align with the business needs, culture, and vision. Ensure compliance with national and industry regulations and take appropriate action when necessary.
  5. Reporting and Decision Making: Through evaluating qualitative and quantitative sources, analysing and interpreting data and reporting data analysis. Ensuring governance compliance where required. Provide comprehensive reports on significant matters to the CEO.

Experience and Qualifications

  1. 15+ years’ experience working within community-based, specialised health and social care professional services at all levels.
  2. Previous relevant experience as COO, Operations Director, Business Director, or Managing Director.
  3. Clinically Qualified essential.
  4. BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus.
  5. Understanding of business Service Delivery, HR, Finance, ICT, and marketing functions.
  6. Strong understanding of the operational requirements and insights into how to continuously improve outcomes for the people being supported.
  7. Experience partnering with other Executive Team members to accomplish short and long-term operational goals.
  8. Experience providing leadership and oversight management to ensure that the business goals are delivered and provide a bespoke ‘person-led’ service to everyone.

Location: Remote working, UK wide with occasional travel within the UK and occasional presence in the office in the UK, North England, West Yorkshire.
