CitySwift is looking for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) with strong scale-up tech company experience to join our rapidly growing team.

About the Role:
The COO will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and alignment with our strategic goals. This role encompasses all traditional COO functions, with the added responsibility of leading and developing our People department. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of scaling operations in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee all operational aspects of the business, including but not limited to:
    • Streamlining and optimizing internal processes and workflows.
    • Implementing and managing key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
    • Driving operational excellence and efficiency across all departments.
    • Managing the company's infrastructure and resources effectively.
    • Developing and executing operational strategies aligned with the company's overall vision.
  • Financial Management: Collaborate with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth.
  • Human Resources Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor the HR team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
    • Develop and implement HR strategies related to talent acquisition, retention, performance management, compensation and benefits, and employee relations.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations.
    • Champion our company culture and values.
  • Scaling Operations: Develop and implement strategies to scale the company's operations to support rapid growth, while maintaining quality and efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the executive team, including the CEO, CCO, CFO, VP Sales, VP Customer, VP Engineering, and VP Product to ensure alignment and collaboration across all departments.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential operational risks. Develop and implement contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to the CEO and Board of Directors on operational performance and key initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in people/operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience scaling operations in a fast-growing technology company, preferably in a SaaS or data-driven business.
  • Strong understanding of financial management principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing HR teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience in the transportation or technology industry is a plus.
