Chief Operating Officer role with the 2026 Games Organising Company

We are actively recruiting into the key role of Chief Operations Officer in readiness of Scotland being formally awarded the 2026 Commonwealth Games. It will be the biggest sporting and cultural event to be held in Scotland in the last decade.

As Chief Operating Officer of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games Organising Company, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution and operational excellence of the Glasgow Games, overseeing all operational aspects of the event including sport competitions and operations, venue operations, logistics, transportation, security, and sport services. You will work closely with other members of the Executive leadership team to develop and implement comprehensive operational plans that will ensure the Games are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

You will bring a proven track record in delivering high-profile, multi-site events, combined with exceptional strategic thinking skills, the ability to lead and manage large teams, and handle high-profile and pressurised situations effectively. The successful candidate will also excel at aligning operational plans with broader organisational goals, ensuring that all activities are executed on time and to the highest standards of quality.
