Job description

Allen & York are excited to be working with a prestigious charity based in London, working to restore nature by engaging, inspiring, and enabling people to connect with nature in their local communities.

Our client is looking for an exceptional Chief Operating Officer to lead on the Trust’s governance, finance, and operations. As a member of the Senior Leadership team, the successful candidate will have day-to-day overall leadership responsibility for finance, legal, risk management, governance, procurement, impact measurement and health & safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead on governance, finance, and operations.
  2. Manage day-to-day leadership responsibilities including finance, legal, risk management, governance, procurement, impact measurement, and health & safety.
  3. Set and monitor organisational budgets and income targets.
  4. Ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
  5. Promote a strong customer service ethos within teams.

Qualifications:

  1. Relevant level 7 qualification in business or finance.
  2. Finance qualification such as FCA/ACA, FCCA/ACCA or CIMA.
  3. Extensive experience in the not-for-profit/charity sector.
  4. Senior level position experience in an SME organisation.

You’ll have strong commercial acumen and financial forecasting skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information and accounting processes. An excellent communicator, you’ll possess strong people management and leadership skills and enjoy working collaboratively.
