Chief Medical Officer, Operations

The Company is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (Operations) to join its Executive Director team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of corporate duties, including contributing to the strategic and corporate direction of the organization, providing medical advice to the Board of Directors, and leading clinical collaboration both within the organization and with external partners. This role also involves taking the lead in quality governance, monitoring and improving clinical outcomes, and leading the medical implications of service configuration and workforce planning. The Chief Medical Officer (Operations) will work closely with the Chief Nurse to foster a culture that prioritizes clinical outcomes and patient experience and will be involved in the development and implementation of the future clinical services strategy.

Applicants must be medically qualified with current GMC registration and have a proven track record in medical and dental leadership. Essential requirements include extensive clinical experience, a strong background in producing high-level medical policies and strategies, and the ability to manage and lead a complex medical environment. The role demands excellent interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills, as well as the ability to inspire and drive change in a challenging financial climate. The ideal candidate will have a passion for continually improving patient care, be IT literate, and demonstrate values and behaviors consistent with the organization's values. Experience in healthcare governance, managing HR-related issues for medical and dental staff, and a good understanding of the NHS health system and reform agenda are also essential.
