Position Overview:

In response to the ongoing growth and development of our employed Medical Services Workforce, we are seeking to appoint a senior HR professional into the newly created role of Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) - Medical Services. This pivotal position will be central to advancing the people management agenda within our medical services teams.

The CHRO - Medical Services will operate in a stand-alone role, requiring an individual with the drive, enthusiasm, and strategic vision to make a significant impact and will work closely with senior leadership. The role holder will partner with our Chief Medical Officer and VP of Physicians Services, along with their senior leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HR Leadership: Execute a consistent and clear comprehensive HR strategy for the medical services workforce; align HR initiatives with the overall business goals of HCA Healthcare UK.
  • Employee Engagement & Retention: Design and implement programs to enhance employee engagement, wellness, recognition, development, succession planning, job satisfaction, and retention within the medical workforce.
  • Advisory Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations matters, first point of contact for conflict resolution, grievances, and performance management processes.
  • Workforce Planning: Collaborate with department heads and clinical leads to forecast staffing needs, ensuring we have the right mix of skills and experience to meet patient demand.
  • Collaboration: Work in partnership with Learning Academy, Rewards, and Talent Management Teams to ensure we attract, retain, and develop top-tier medical talent.
  • HR Administration: Oversee and manage the full range of HR administrative tasks.
