About The Role

As we embark on our journey to become an FCA-regulated entity, we are looking for a seasoned and dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial strategy and operations. This individual will play a critical role in supporting our growth, ensuring financial health, and driving our strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

As the CFO of Pryme Financials, you will:

Strategic Financial Leadership

  1. Drive financial strategy in alignment with Pryme's growth goals, with a focus on both profitability and long-term sustainability.
  2. Provide leadership on all financial aspects, ensuring the business operates within a sound financial framework.
  3. Support the CEO and senior leadership team with financial insights to drive decision-making and business development.
  4. Collaborate in formulating business expansion strategies across various regions, focusing on cross-border operations.

FCA Compliance and Regulatory Oversight

  1. Lead the process for obtaining and maintaining FCA regulatory approvals.
  2. Ensure that all financial operations meet FCA and other regulatory standards, particularly around capital adequacy, liquidity management, and financial risk controls.
  3. Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure full regulatory compliance in the UK.

Financial Planning and Risk Management

  1. Oversee and manage the company’s financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting process.
  2. Establish robust risk management frameworks to manage liquidity, credit, operational, and foreign exchange risks across multi-currency operations.
  3. Lead financial due diligence for potential partnerships, mergers, and acquisitions.

Capital Raising and Investor Relations

  1. Lead fundraising efforts, including managing relationships with current and prospective investors, financial institutions, and stakeholders.
  2. Present financial results, forecasts, and key KPIs to the Board, investors, and other stakeholders.
  3. Develop strategies for optimising the company’s capital structure, including debt and equity financing options.

Team Leadership and Development

  1. Build, mentor, and lead the finance team, ensuring the team can deliver exceptional support across Pryme’s financial activities.
  2. Collaborate cross-functionally with the technology, product, and business development teams to ensure finance effectively supports business objectives.

Required Qualifications And Experience

  1. FCA Approval: Must have experience in a similar role within an FCA-regulated fintech or financial institution, with a track record of achieving regulatory approval.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 10 years in senior financial leadership roles, with at least 5 years as a CFO or in a strategic finance leadership position.
  3. Sector Expertise: Deep experience in fintech or banking, particularly in multi-currency operations and digital banking services.
  4. Capital Markets and Fundraising: Proven experience in raising capital through various channels (equity, debt, convertible notes) and managing investor relations.
  5. International Exposure: Experience in managing multi-country operations, particularly in African and UK markets.
  6. Risk Management: Strong experience in financial risk management, including currency risk, liquidity management, and regulatory risk.
  7. Technology & Data: Strong understanding of the role of financial technology in transforming finance and ability to work closely with technology teams to integrate finance with the latest tools.
