Job description

We are pleased to have an opportunity for a Chief Financial Officer to join our Executive Board.

As one of two new permanent Executive Director appointments, this role will report to our Director General and will see you accountable for developing and delivering RBL's financial strategy and performance.

RBL is a leading UK charity with income of c.£150m and a strong balance sheet with investments and property holdings. You will be responsible for all financial policy and practice and for providing expertise and assurance to the Board of Trustees on financial management and compliance. You will lead and develop our teams across Finance, Property, Procurement, Legal, Risk, and Assurance.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Champion and enact RBL values through dynamic and effective leadership.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of our strategy, annual business plan, and associated performance objectives for all Executive Directors.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive long-term financial strategy and model that ensures the sustainability of the charity and its subsidiaries.
  • Provide comprehensive financial services to the charity, including budget proposals, development of finance systems, provision of accurate and timely information/advice, and compilation of monthly management returns and end-of-year accounts for statutory and/or regulatory purposes.
  • Manage the development of purchasing and supply chain activities, delivery of a Group-level property strategy, be accountable for our Legal and Risk management services, and take ownership of our Insurance renewal and Data Protection compliance.
  • Represent RBL nationally and internationally as required.
