Eden Scott is delighted to be working with an established PE-backed biotechnology scaleup as they look for a Chief Executive Officer to drive the business to its next phase of development and commercial growth.

Following a significant investment in its manufacturing capabilities, our client is now well positioned to strengthen commercial partnerships and expand its presence in several important markets.

Key deliverables for this position include:

• Strengthening the leadership team to drive execution of the business strategy.
• Expanding commercial traction through long-term customer relationships and recurring revenue.
• Aligning the product portfolio with market demand while mitigating industry risks.
• Achieving financial stability and cash flow positivity.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a CEO, Managing Director, or demonstrable experience at the Senior Leadership level within a relevant sector, with a strong understanding of both the technical and commercial aspects of running an industrial biotechnology business. A background in engineering, manufacturing, or process industries, particularly within the food and drink sector, is preferred.

Key Requirements

• Proven track record of leading and growing a commercial business.
• Experience in sales, business development, and securing commercial contracts.
• Knowledge of international markets and experience in global sales.
• Strong financial acumen, including P&L management and cash flow oversight.
• Expertise in cost control and managing operational budgets.
• Experience securing external funding, including grants and investment.
• Understanding of operational efficiency within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Benefits and Compensation

Given the early-stage nature of this venture, the role will initially offer a base salary in the £80,000 - £100,000 range, complemented by an equity/options package designed to align incentives, drive motivation, and provide substantial rewards upon the company's successful exit.
